The Fantasy of Winning Two Homecoming Games

A postcard was sent home addressed to my brother, a Ransom Everglades alumni, inviting him to attend the annual Homecoming football game. As I scanned the card, I discovered that Ransom has challenged Country Day to their Homecoming Football Game on October 25th. Challenging and exciting, this game is also the final game of the Spartan Football this season, and the last high school football game for our seniors. After having a meeting with senior and Captain Matt Wendrow and Coach Sennett, Coach Sennett has agreed to rent a fan bus to take MCDS students and faculty to Ransom Everglades if enough interest is shown.
Imagine traveling together to Coconut Grove (a much shorter journey than to Lakeland) and overwhelming Raider stands with Spartans. And although the game is from 2:30-5 on the same day as our Homecoming dance, I encourage the high school to come together and cheer on our players. (Don’t worry everybody, sunburns will be glamorous too!)
