MIT and EASTERN FLORIDA STATE AWAIT SPARTANS
Girls Sign On
Another round of seniors signed with their chosen colleges. Danielle Geathers, who plans to play soccer at MIT next year, and Nyasia John, who will play volleyball at Eastern Florida State College, penned their commitment contracts this morning, April 27th. Per usual, the two sat in the senior circle surrounded by family, friends and college counselors.
Assistant Athletic Director, Anthony Haderer, as the morning’s “MC,” called Geathers, the “epitome of a scholar athlete.” She has been key to the Varsity Girls Soccer team’s successes, leading them to 5 District Championships, 2 Regional Championships, 2 Final Fours and the only State Championship in school history. She has also been selected to First Team All-County by the Miami Herald.
Nyasia John, recounted Haderer, has been a dominant player for the Girls Spartan Volleyball program, totaling 262 kills, 68 blocks and 48 digs. As a crucial component of the team, she dedicated a lot of her time and leadership to the program. She also received Honorable Mention from the Miami Herald for the past two seasons.
Look out for a story on Danielle Geathers coming soon to our Spartacus.
